After!

Here are the girls with their hair out of the curlers. They look so pretty.

Before!

Kate had a couple of preschool friends over to have a girly day. We did their hair in curlers, and painted their fingernails and toenails. They watched movies and had lots of 4 year old girly fun.

Good hair day!

I did Audrey and Hailey's hair before school. Most of it is straight I just curled the bottom under. Then I took 6 or so sections and curled them. So it is straight and curly and it looks so cute. I also got these headbands for the girls for Christmas. I found them at the dollar store and I absolutely love them, they fit to their heads and don't snap in half like the hard plastic ones. Love the hair, what else can I say.

All I want for new years is my two front teeth?

For the last two months Hailey has been singing, "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth." This whole time she had a loose tooth right in the front. I was sure she would loose it before Christmas and she would get to sing the song without her a front tooth. Right after Christmas but before new years, she lost the tooth, so I sang to her, "All I want for new years is my two front teeth." We all laughed and sang that song for a couple of days. So here she is playing in the snow with one tooth missing. Love you Hailey.

Look who fell asleep with a CHOCOLATE orange.

Ruth fell asleep watching a movie and I went to carry her up to her bed and found this. She was so mad when I put her half asleep in the bath to wash her off.

I think I'll wait on Dance.

I really want to do it, but there is just too much to do on Thursdays. So I think I'll wait a year. Grammy Bair had a good idea to save the $70 I'd be spending a month on Dance for a piano. Then when the time comes we can put the girls in piano.

Should I put the twins in Dance?

I'm debating back and forth with the idea of a dance class for Audrey and Hailey. I have a place my friend Tina takes her girls that sounds really nice. It's called Sunshine Generation they sing and dance and use the same 2 costumes a year. The teacher says she'll let the girls come try it out and see if they like it and she'll let me come watch and see what I think before I decide. Together it will be close to $70 a month for every Thursday. I did put the girls in a little cheer class with Heidi for 3 Thursdays, that they just loved. But if we did this we'd be committing to the end of the school year. Thursday's are our ward nights also so Chris has scouts at 5:30 and I have enrichment once a month at 7 or 6:30, but since I'm in charge, I need to go early and set up. Since the class is at 5:40 that might cause a problem. Should I wait a couple of years? I will put them in piano soon but not until they are better at reading. Probably next year when they are 8. Let me know what you think. I'm just trying to decide. I'm not sure we can afford it. What would we cut out to have that money? I know bills. I don't like to pay them anyway. :) Well I think it is a good idea but I just can't decide what I want to do. Also if they want to do it they would have to have their room clean every night and keep up on their homework. If they didn't I'd pull them out. I really think they would like it though. So post your comments and tell me your opinion.

I love School!

One of my friends posted how glorious her Monday was yesterday because she had her routine and school back. So I decided to post about that too. I had a great day yesterday Audrey and Hailey were up and ready for school at 7:10 ready to go see their friends and teachers again. Max, Ruth, Kate, and I watched movies and played. I had a good healthy lunch. The kids had hot dogs and toaster strudels for lunch. I got 4 loads of laundry clean and folded, the dishes unloaded and reloaded, unloaded and reloaded again. I got the counter in the kitchen all clean and a few dishes washed by hand. Then we topped it off with dinner and Family Home Evening at the Bairs. I'm sure everyone knows everything that Grammy Bair makes is wonderful. So over all we had a great day.

Today is great too, so far that is. We did get up late but hurried to get ready in time and sent the girls out the door to the bus. Kate got ready for her first day back to preschool. LeRoyne picked her up and off they went. Not long after that I got a call from a friend who needed me to watch her son who is a little bit younger than Max and Ruth (or at least he's a little bit shorter than they are). He's been here for a little over an hour. What fun they have had. Those 3 kids have been playing and playing and playing. They had a brief pause for lunch. But went right back at it again. Running from Ruth's to Max's room as super hero's saving each other for terrible fates. Soon it will be nap time and I'll be alone to clean (Kate is spending time at LeRoyne's house with her friend Paige). I hope everyone has a great day. I sure am.

Fashion Hailey

Hailey asked me to take a photo of her showing off her pajamas by herself. She loved this photo and called it Fashion Hailey. So here she is with her dollar store accessories and $4.00 pajamas. We love you Fashion Hailey. Over all we had a great Christmas.

Pajamas

Of course you need the traditional pajamas. This year we actually took a photo of the kids in their pajamas. Max was so excited to get pajamas but he didn't know who was on them. It was so hilarious. He opened them up and with much excitement said, "It's, it's, it's..." and Mommy said, "Star Wars." Then he exclaimed, "It's STAR WARS!" He still doesn't know what star wars is but he likes his jammies. The girls like their Disney Princess pajamas.

Scooters

Of course we got Audrey, Hailey, and Kate something they couldn't even use for Christmas, scooters. Oh well in a few months they will get a lot of use out of them.

Kinder Bunnies

Chris and I and friends have got into the game KillerBunnies we have been playing a lot (mostly after the kids have gone to bed). But the times that we have played when they are awake, they want to play really bad. But it is just too hard for them to figure out, you have to read each card to play and they can't read. Chris found KinderBunnies which is the killer bunny game for kids. They have wanted to get it since Chris discovered it. We decided to get it for them for Christmas. Audrey especially likes to play it. Plus you can deal them in with the killer bunny game and it adds fun things to the game.

Dr. Ruth

Ruth's new name is Dr. Ruth. She has loved LeRoyne's and Grammy's medical kits. So when Chris and I saw this pink Dr. set we had to get it for her. Now she takes the little pink medical kit all around the house with her asking everyone if they can have a check up.

Firefighter Max!

Max had a firefighter Christmas. He calls himself "Fire Max." He loves his new fire truck and fire accessories. Kate who had his name in the exchange got him two little fire trucks and a little fire set.

Merry Christmas!

Well here we are on Christmas day. The kids are snuggled up in their new Pajamas and Christmas blankets from Grammy. They are watching a Christmas movie. I'm looking through the photos we took today, and I felt like posting. We had a wonderful day. It was great family time. Here is a photo of us before we opened our presents. Chris is looking as handsome as ever. I'm just out of the shower and the kids are ready for some gifts. We take a photo like this every year. It is crazy to see how the kids have really grown. We all can't fit on two steps anymore.

Princess Unicorn

Update: if you want one, Chris is selling them on Ebay.

Chris (and this is Chris writing, excuse the 3rd person) had two work parties with white elephant gift exchanges. We watched "The Office" and when he saw the "Princess Unicorn" he decided it would be awesome to make one of them for the gift exchange. First we needed screen captures from the tv:

Then he spent a couple hours putting together the box artwork in Illustrator. We weren't able to find a barbie, dress or wand that was a exact match (although we used to have THAT EXACT wand!!!) but we found a pretty good match. The horn was carved out of a white crayon. In all we did a pretty good job.

Only 3 couples came to the first exchange so we made a second one. Different dress and different wand but it turned out great too!

You can check out the entire episode on Hulu

Big Girls.

How they have grown. Audrey and Hailey will be 7 this month, they are doing really well in school, reading books left and right. Kate is writing words with help all in CAPS. They are growing so fast.

Bows Bows Bows!

I've recently learned how to make these cute bows. I made 8 of the one with the light brown flower they are my favorite. So I had Chirs take photos of the girls with their new bows on. My dear friend Camille is going to show me how to make a different type, she showed me how to do these ones. So I'm sure I'll be posting photos of new bow creations soon. It feels really good to create something beautiful.

Boy's can use curlers too!!!

Max is constantly being told no about lots of things, wearing dresses getting his fingernails painted and wearing earrings. He just wants to be part of the family. Which of course he is. He is always excited to have a turn to get his hair done, which most of the time I pretend to comb because it is too short to spike. But this day he figured out how to use the curlers on his own. I'll never tell him he can't use curlers again. I found myself laughing, he's all boy for sure. I love that little man.
