Sam Sam Sam

We are truly enjoying out little Sam, who wont be little for too long. He is standing next to everything and even standing by himself for a minute or so. He is such a fun guy to have in our home.

One more thing on an unrelated note. I helped in my girls' classes today it was awesome. In Kate's class I put together folders with paper and talked to one of the other parents. It feels great to finally know a few of the kids that Kate talks about. Hopefully I can help more often and get to know them by name. In Audrey and Hailey's class I got to help with story problems; which have always been difficult to me. I sat and waited for their teacher to explain how to do them. Then 2 kids came over to me and I helped them to figure out the problems. I'm not sure I could have showed the kids what to do if I hadn't seen the teacher explain it. Thankfully I was there for that. It was funny because the 2 kids and I were really moving on the problems and more kids appeared asking for help on multiple problems. Some how I was able to explain it to all of them. Soon it was time for them to go run and I left. I cannot tell you how fun it was. Maybe because I was figuring out something that was always hard for me. I left on such a natural high. I decided it would be good for me to go through grade school again when I can pay close attention and retain more knowledge. I guess I will be challenged enough helping my kids through school. It has been fun learning things again with them.

Curlformers

I found these fabulous new curlers called curlformers. They make beautiful curls. Plus they are super fun. My kids love to play with them. I put them in my hair and they turned out great too. You can find some cheaper on ebay. I want to buy another box I can't put curlformers in all 4 girls hair at the same time. Here are photos of Hailey and Kate's hair. Super cute.

Girls and their curls.

I'm thinking I love doing the girls hair curly. It is adorable. They may not like to sleep in curlers but look how cute it turns out.

Greetings from Alaska.

Grammy and Grandpa went on a trip to Alaska. While they were gone they sent us postcards; it was so fun to read what Samuel's said.

Gratitude.

In conference Thomas S. Monson mentioned gratitude in one of his talks. I have decided it would be good for my children to realize all of the things that they have to be grateful for. I know sometimes I am ungrateful. I need to be a better example to them. So we decided to make a small gratitude journal as a family. Maybe this way the children will be thinking about the things that they are grateful for through out the day so that when it is journal time they will have something good to say. So far we have only done it 2 nights. But it is something fun to add to our scripture study time. Both nights Max has said he is grateful for Heavenly Father. I'm not sure if it's just a standard primary answer but it makes me feel good inside to hear him say that. If only I could express to him how much his Heavenly Father really loves and cares for him. I also think we will add a gratitude prayer, just to tell heavenly father what we are grateful for each night. Then we can write down what we are grateful for.

One other thing that I have been feeling so much is how my children will follow my example. I have been having a difficult time getting my children to do their chores. Also it has been hard to get them to clean their rooms. At times I use Chris as an example for them. I ask them, "Does Daddy every leave his clothes on the floor?" or "Are Daddy's shoes in the living room?" They can honestly answer, "no he puts his clothes and shoes away." I want to be able to say, "look at Mommy's room isn't it peaceful and wonderful when you go in there and there isn't anything on the floor?" So I have felt like my example needs to be better for them. I have recently cleaned my room and have a desire to keep it cleaned. This way I can be a better example to my children. Also I need to let the kids see me reading my scriptures. I have felt that I should read my scriptures in the morning when I eat breakfast. Then when the kids are ready to eat in the morning I can be a good example to them. However I don't want milk spilled on my scriptures and I am sometimes scrambling in the morning to get ready for school. Maybe I should just read them in my room or the formal living room. They need me often enough that they will come find me and see me reading. I hope that there is some way I can help them understand how much I love the gospel. I hope some how they turn out to be good people who follow the Lord in righteousness.

Dinasaur Museum

One of the days on our Printy Family Reunion we went to the dinosaur Museum in Ogden. We had never gone there before. The kids loved it. Nephi liked going on the secret path. It was nice because it was something that the whole family could enjoy. My dad was sad he had to work so he missed it.

Printy Family Reunion

This September we did a much needed Printy Family Reunion. We went up to Wolf Creek and stayed in a condo. It was great to be together as a family. We had some meals together and played. One day we went to Pine View Reservoir and played. The kids had an awesome time.
Chris found us a raft from KSL.com that had only been used once. It was great to go row out on the water. Issac Matt and Sarah's son was so cute. I just loved spending time with him. As always my brothers helped out tons with my kids. They just love their uncles. Sarah and Paloma are favorites too, Ruth insisted on going out in the water with Sarah to dance. :) Samuel loved the sand it took me a while to let him down to get dirty but it was worth it. Look at that smile, he had a ball.
